As per my previous post, Ecotricity’s Electric Highway had been due to begin a changeover to the new cost-to-charge tariff. However, on the day of the launch, Ecotricity have updated the tariff to reflect feedback from customers and vehicle manufacturers.
The new cost is £6 for 30 mins of rapid charging, which in a 30kWh LEAF should give approximately 21kWh of charge (about 80%), with a range of around 70-100 miles.
This falls into line with the sales that the LEAF can be charged from 0-80% in half an hour, and means that rather than having to have two 20min sessions to get enough range, one 30 minute charge should be adequate.
This means that my calculations from the previous article are now defunct… I’ll work out some new figures again soon!
